PINEHURST, N.C. - Washington State All-American Anastasia Kostina proves she is a force to be reckoned with as she recorded a 72 to tie the lowest single round score of the tournament, clawing her way into the top spot after two rounds of the Pinehurst Challenge, held at the par-72, 5,954 yard No.8 Pinehurst Golf Course, March 13.

The Nakhabino, Russia native entered the day in a three-way tie for fourth, but knocked three shots off of her first round score of 75 to separate herself from the pack and take the lead. Also making an impact on the course is freshman Amy Eneroth who currently sits in a three-way tie for eighth and is just three shots out of the top-5.

Climbing her way up the charts is freshman Jessica Black who entered the second round in a tie for 58th, but battled her way up 20 spots to find herself in an eight-way tie for 38th. Competing as an individual is Heather O'Leary, who knocked two strokes off her first round score and moved up eight spots to sit in a tie for 52nd, while Brooke Henderson moved up two spots and is knotted at 58th. Tracy Broders finished the second round in a tie for 75th to round out the Cougar contingent.

The Cougars enter the final round of the Pinehurst Challenge in sixth, and will begin the final 18-holes with a shotgun start, Tuesday.
