PULLMAN, Wash. - Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Jorgensen (North Bend, Wash.) passed Jessica Glazer for the top spot in the WSU record books after shutting out UC Irvine 2-0 Sunday for her 11th career shutout.
"I'm really pleased for her and for the defense ahead of her," said WSU head coach Dan Tobias. "It is impressive for somebody who is only 10 games into her sophomore season."
Jorgensen has recorded the 11 shutouts in only 29 games. Five of the six wins for WSU this year has come on a Jorgensen shutout. She also had five shutouts last season, highlighted by a 2-0 shutout over Pac-10 champs USC and a 1-0 shutout of Washington, which was leading the conference at the time.
Jorgensen was named the Outstanding Goalkeeper at the Husky Nike Invitational as well as being named to the All-Tournament team. This marks the second time this season that Jorgensen was named Outstanding Goalkeeper of a tournament. She also took the honors at the Governor's Cup hosted by the University of Idaho.
