PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State's Jay-Lee Longbottom and Maria and Anastasia Kostina were named to the National Golf Coaches Association Division I All-American Scholar Team it was announced by the organization, Wednesday.
The three Cougars were among 199 women's collegiate golfers recognized. The criteria for selection to the team are a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66 percent of the school's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
Outgoing seniors Longbottom (Perth, Austrailia) and Maria Kostina (Nakhabino, Russia) capped their WSU careers with selections to the team. It was Longbottom's third straight all-scholar team nod while Maria Kostina earned her second consecutive selection. Maria's younger sister, incoming senior Anastasia, makes her initial appearance on the team.
Dating back to Jenny Ballou's all-scholar team selection in 1999, WSU has had a representative on the team for seven consecutive years.
