Pac-12 Volleyball Honors Release Get Acrobat Reader

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State senior Meagan Ganzer was one of 14 players named to the 2011 All-Pac-12 Conference Volleyball Team. Ganzer is the first Cougar player to be named to the all-conference team since LaToya Harris in 2002.

Ganzer, a 6-3 outside hitter from Black Diamond, Wash., led the Cougars and the Pac-12 Conference all season in kills per set and ended the season with a 4.88 kills per set average which is fifth-best nationally. She also had a 5.38 point per set average which is second-best in Pac-12 and sixth-best nationally. Ganzer has accumulated 1,531 career kills which is third-best in WSU all-time records, and her 52 solo blocks is ninth-best in Cougar all-time records. She is also listed on WSU's single season kills list with 595 in 2011 which is second-best all-time and only 54 behind leader Sarah Silvernail's 649 kills in 1996.

The 2011 Pac-12 Player of the Year is USC's Alex Jupiter and Washington's Krista Vansant was named the Freshman of the Year. Other honors went to USC's Kendall Bateman, Setter of the year, USC's Natalie Hagglund, Libero of the Year, and USC's Mick Haley, Coach of the Year.

Other members of the 2011 All-Pac-12 team included: Kendall Bateman, USC; Alaina Bergsma, Oregon; Natalie Hagglund, USC; Cursty Jackson, Arizona; Alex Jupiter, USC; Rachael Kidder, UCLA; Tarah Murrey, California; Lauren Plum, Oregon; Kelly Reeves, UCLA; Bianca Rowland, Washington; Lauren Williams, USC; Rachel Williams, Stanford; and Carly Wopat, Stanford.

Named to the Honorable Mention were: Kat Brown, California; Karissa Cook, Stanford; Katie Fuller, USC; Lainey Gera, UCLA; Shannon Hawari, California; Correy Johnson, California; Courtney Karst, Arizona; Tabitha Love, UCLA; Arica Nassar, Oregon State; Robin Rostratter, California; Camille Saxton, Oregon State; Lauren Van Orden, UCLA; Krista Vansant, Washington; and Ariana Williams, Oregon.

The All-Freshman Team included: Lydia Bai, Stanford; Liz Brenner, Oregon; Christina Higgins, California; Madison Kingdon, Arizona; Chloe Mathis, Arizona; Arica Nassar, Oregon State; Krista Vansant, Washington. Honorable mention all-freshman team included: Zoe Nightingale, UCLA; Summer Ross, Washington; Chelsey Schofield, Utah; Hannah Schraer, USC; and Nora Tuioti-Mariner, Arizona State.
