WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Tiara Pittman highlighted eight Washington State student-athletes named to the 2011 Pac-12 Conference Women's Soccer All-Academic teams, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Monday.
A psychology major with a 3.85 GPA, Pittman earned a first team selection for the second-straight season after being honorable mention in 2009.
Cameron (3.77 GPA/psychology major) and Johnson (3.79/medical sciences) were second team for the second-consecutive year. Doyle (3.84/undeclared) received her first accolade.
Fenter (3.55/biological sciences) was honorable mention for the third-straight year. McFadden (3.54/education) picked up her second-straight award. Zalud (3.59/undeclared) and Clair (3.11/undeclared) were honored for the first time.
The Cougars have earned 103 all-conference academic awards in Matt Potter's nine years as the Washington State head coach. The overall selections are second to California's 104 during that span, but the Cougars hold a 16-3 advantage in first team honors over the Golden Bears and a 32-12 margin in first and second team awards combined.
