Final Score: California 69, No. 9 Washington State 64

WSU Head Coach Tony Bennett

On California...
"Take your hat off. They came on the road without one of their big guns in Hardin and were good. They caused some matchup problems for us."

On Ryan Anderson...
"I've said it all week, Ryan Anderson is one of the most underrated players in the conference. He's tremendous. He can score in a variety of ways and he showed that tonight."

On the Pac-10...
"We can take nothing for granted. Not that we do, but it's a battle. It's a good league and it's a battle. We have limitations, we have some strengths, but it's not easy and we have to keep scrapping and fighting and learn from it. You're looking at the best league in the country."

WSU Guard Taylor Rochestie

On the game...
"I think it was a situation where when we needed a big stop, we couldn't get it. Towards the end of the game I think we gave them too many easy shots and didn't execute the way we should have and put ourselves in a bad situation."

On playing again Saturday...
"That's the best thing about the Pac-10, you can't think about each game too long. We have a heavyweight contender coming in here Saturday so as much as we want to get upset about this game, we have to put it past us. We need to learn from our mistakes, loosen up some screws and make some improvements or it's going to be a long season."

On Ryan Anderson...
"Yeah, he is a good scorer. We knew he could shoot and we knew he could score in multiple ways and I think our team defense could have been better. Once you let one of the top scorers in the league get going, you can't expect him to start missing a bunch."

WSU Forward Caleb Forrest

On rebounding...
"We got more offensive rebounds than we normally do, but defensively, they kind of out toughed us."

WSU Guard Derrick Low

On his shooting...
"Yeah, they just weren't falling tonight. I shot the ball the same as I have all season. I don't think I could have shot the ball any differently. A lot of them just rimmed out, but that's the way basketball is and we've just got to keep working hard and look forward to the game Saturday."

California Head Coach Ben Braun

On the game...
"I thought Patrick (Christopher) defended well in the second half on Kyle Weaver, and Jamal (Boykin) showed a lot of energy guarding in the post, and Ryan (Anderson) played well with the four fouls coming down the stretch."

"We needed to play well in the second half, because they have great players, and I felt we did a good job of doing that."

"We've been so close in so many games, and this was another game where we had the lead throughout the game, and our guys drew a line in the sand and said 'we got to close.' Our guys believed in each other."

"I'm really proud of our team's effort, I think in the end you have to come together and tonight our guys really wanted this, and we were able to pull it out."

On WSU's defense
"Give Washington State credit their defense is always tough, they play great position defense, and I thought our guys did a great job of rotating the ball and we were able to cash in."

California Forward Jamal Boykin

On the late block on Daven Harmeling...
"When they we're coming down the court I whispered to Harmeling 'this play's coming to you,' and for a second I lost him, but out of the corner of my eye I saw him and I ran there as fast as I could, and it ended up being a huge play for us."
