WALNUT, Calif. -- A pair of Cougars reached NCAA Regional Qualifying marks Saturday as the Washington State track and field teams competed in the final day's events at the 48th Mt. San Antonio College Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium.
Senior James McSwain (Las Vegas) finished second in the men's Invitational University/Open 100m dash with an NCAA RQ time of 10.31 seconds with a legal wind of 1.9 mps. McSwain ran a 10.31 time in the 100m at the Texas Relays last weekend in Austin but that race was wind-aided with a 2.4 mps wind.
Tamara Diles (senior, Bellevue, Wash.) cleared an NCAA RQ height of 13-feet, 2 inches in the women's pole vault, which was the opening height. Freshman Tiffany Maskulinski (Elma, NY) did not clear a height in the same event.
