This Week: Washington State swimming competes in the annual Crimson and Gray Intrasquad meet Friday at 5 p.m. at Gibb Pool...Cougars will split up into two teams and compete in nine events.
Intrasquad Teams: CRIMSON - Lindsay Backhouse, Larissa Barth, Emily Chandler, Jane Copland, Lina Duagvilaite, Maya Dill, Laurie Gregg, Andrea Lubeck, Jamie MacLeod, Erin McCleave, Beth Newhouse and Monika Povilonyte...GRAY - Danielle Berish, Kayli Changstrom, Karen Eldred, Rachel Hansen, Kristin Marceau, Bryn Mooney, Kelly O'Neill, Elyse Peterson, Afton Pickett, Sarah Reichwald, Kenzie Reiter, Dani Smith and Katie Van Horne.
2005-06 Outlook: Head Coach Erica Quam enters her fourth season at Washington State...2005-06 team anchored by four NCAA Consideration qualifiers, Jane Copland, Kayli Changstrom, Erin McCleave and Monika Povilonyte...14 additional returning letterwinners add depth and experience...WSU welcomes seven newcomers...Cougars strive to continue traditions of strong academics as well as swimming fast at the end of the season at the Pacific Ten Conference and NCAA level.
Head Coach Erica Quam Says: "I am excited about the direction that our program is heading. The team has the potential and the possibility to improve and be better than we ever have been as a program. We have the blend of an experienced group of upperclassmen, the foundation and leaders of the team, combined with an energetic group of newcomers who have a tremendous amount of potential. The returning team members continue to pass along Cougar traditions and the meaning of Cougar Pride, and the freshmen are up to the challenge of taking those as their own and making this team great."
