All-American Sits in Top 10 After Second Day of Pac-10 Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - Washington State All-American Anastasia Kostina leads the pack of young Cougars after two rounds of competition at the Pacific-10 Championship, held at the par-72, 6,459 yard Oro Valley Country Club.

Kostina teed off against some of the nation's best, and after firing an opening round 2-under 70 combined with a second round 75 (+3), the senior garnered a combined total of 145 (+1) to knot her in a tie for seventh. The Nakhabino, Russia native sits just four-shots shy of the lead, currently held by UCLA's Amie Cochran (No. 14/GolfWeek).

As a team, the Cougars fired a second round score of 315 (+27), giving them a combined total of 615 (+39), to put them in ninth place. Washington State currently sits just 10-strokes out of breaking the top 5, and trail eighth place Stanford (No. 21/GolfWeek) by four strokes. UCLA leads the tournament with a total of 578 (-1), while Oregon (No. 43/Golfweek) rounds out the field in the 10th position.

Freshman Amy Eneroth sits in a tie for 26th, just one shot shy of breaking the top 25, while teammate Jessica Black sits four shots back to knot herself in a tie for 37th. Freshman Haley Parsons fired a second round 81 (+9), to sit in a tie for 45th, while sophomore Tracy Broders holds on to her position at 48th to round out the Cougar contingent.
