STOCKTON, Calif. - The Washington State women's swim team finished the Pacific Invitational in fourth place Saturday with 527 points. The Cougars were led by freshman Jane Copland, who captured third place in overall individual scoring with 71 points.

Ahead of the Cougars in the final standings were California in first place with 852, Pacific in second with 632 and Brigham Young in third with 593 points.

After earning 34 points during Friday's competition, Copland added to her total with 37 in Saturday's action. In the 100 breaststroke Copland captured first place with a time of 1:05.27. She also took home a second place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:21.49.

With her times, Copland improved her position on the Cougars' all-time top 10 list in both breaststroke events. Copland's time in the 100 breast is her career best, which places her No. 5 on the schools' all-time list in that event. Copland also moved into third on the top 10 list in the 200 breast.

In the 200 breast, she swam a time of 2:25.46, giving her fifth place and the ninth spot in the school's all-time top 10 list for that event.
