PULLMAN, Wash. - Randi Glas and Deka DeWitt each scored goals for Washington State as the Cougars stopped Utah State 2-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match.

The Cougars (2-3-0), who halted their three-match losing streak, outshot the visiting Aggies (2-5-0) 21-12 overall.

Glas' (Grand Forks, N.D.) goal came four minutes into the contest when she lobbed a shot from the left side of the box to the upper right corner of the net. It was the first goal for Glas in 26 matches and the first game-winner of her career. Freshmen Deka DeWitt (Auburn, Wash.) and Karli Silveira (Campbell, Calif.) both assisted the score.

The DeWitt sisters combined on WSU's second-half goal in the 59th minute. Shalli, a senior midfielder, started an indirect kick that Deka blasted over the Aggies' defensive wall and into the goal 25 yards away.

"We did a better job of attacking with numbers today," said Cougar head coach Lisa Gozley. "We shifted our point of attack in the second half to exploit the wing spaces."

Freshman goalkeeper Shannon Wilson (Las Vegas, Nevada) played a solid 90 minutes to earn her second shutout of the season for WSU. In the 14th minute, Wilson made a spectacular play of a penalty kick by the Aggies. USU freshman defender Heather Cox took the penalty kick for Utah State, but fired a shot right at Wilson who knocked down the attempt, then saved the rebound that Cox fired back.

Next weekend the Cougars travel to Missoula, Mont., to battle both Montana Sept. 26 and Air Force Sept. 27.
