Kostina Keeps Competition in Reach After Two Rounds of the West Regional

AUBURN, Wash. - All-American Anastasia Kostina continues to prove herself on the course as she competes against he nation's best and sits just two shots shy of breaking the top-25 at the NCAA Division I Women's West Regional, held at the par-72, 6,289 yard Washington National Golf Club, Friday.

Kostina entered the second round knotted in a tie for 30th, but after shooting a 77 (+5), giving the senior a combined total of 152 (+8) holding tight to her position in a tie for 30th. Freshman Amy Eneroth fired a 78 (+6) to finish the second day of the tournament in a tie for 48th, while teammate Haley Parsons knocked two strokes off her first round score firing an 80 (+8) and ending the day in a tie for 84th.

After firing a 318 (+30) during the second round of competition, knocking two strokes off of their first round score, the Cougars tallied a two-round combined total of 638 (+62). Leading the field of competition is Purdue, who shot a two-day total of 583 (+7), while Montana rounds out the 21-team field with a combined score of 649(+73).

Freshman Jessica Black fired a second round 83 (+11), knocking three strokes off her first round score, putting her in 99th place, while teammate Tracy Broders also shaved three strokes off her first round total giving her a second round total 85 (+13), and sits knotted in a tie for 103rd.

The final round of the competition will take place Saturday with tee times beginning at X a.m. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com, and results will be posted on www.wsucougars.com.
