WSU VOLLEYBALL HOSTS DESERT DWELLERS
The Washington State University volleyball team (11-11 overall, 3-9 Pac-12) hosts Arizona (13-8, 5-7) Friday, Oct. 28 and Arizona State (5-16, 1-11) Saturday, Oct. 29, in 7 p.m. matches in Bohler Gym... second meeting between Wildcats/Sun Devils and Cougars...last month WSU defeated ASU in Tempe in a five-set match with the fifth set score 15-13...UA swept WSU in Tucson...anyone dressed in a Halloween costume Saturday, Oct. 29, may purchase a general admission seat for only $2...both contests will be webcast on the Cougars All-Access subscription internet connection.

BE PREPARED FOR A LONG BATTLE
In the past 12 years, WSU and ASU have played 8 five-set matches with each team winning four...in all-time matches in Pullman, WSU leads ASU 13-12.

COUGAR COACHING STAFF
First year Head Coach Jen Stinson Greeny (11-11 at WSU, 123-35 in 5-year career) is no stranger to Washington State volleyball...an outstanding student and athlete at WSU, Greeny was an All-Pac-10 player and member of three NCAA teams including the 1996 Elite Eight team...also an assistant coach for three more NCAA appearances including the 2002 Elite Eight team...had highly successful NAIA coaching career at Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC) with four-year record of 112-24 (.824)...assistant coaches Pat Stangle (former head coach at Wyoming, former asst. coach at Washington) and Burdette Greeny (former asst. coach at LCSC)...Katie Hinrichs, coordinator of operations (former player at LCSC)...volunteer coach Shannon Wyckoff Hunt was the first WSU player to reach 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in a career.

REBUILDING THE COUGAR VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM
** Overall record of 11-11 = five more wins than in all of 2010 season
** Pac-12 record of 3-9 = three more wins than in 2010 season
** WSU has losses to nationally-ranked opponents - California (No. 4), UCLA (No. 6), Stanford (No. 7), USC (No. 13), Oregon (No. 15 and No. 18) Or to teams also receiving votes = Texas A&M, Arizona
** 2011 Cougars = 1 senior, four returning letterwinners, 11 newcomers, only one player on 2011 team recruited by Greeny
** Senior Meagan Ganzer leads Pac-12/ 5th nationally with 4.84 kills per set and leads Pac-12 with 5.40 points per set/6th nationally.

COUGS WAVE PINK & A-B-C CAMPAIGN FOR BREAST CANCER
The Cougars wore pink uniforms Oct. 8 for the Colorado match as part of the WSU COUGS WAVE PINK campaign...for the 10th consecutive year, the WSU women's volleyball team are conducting the Attacking Breast Cancer (ABC) campaign to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Support Group of the Palouse, known as the Bosom Buddies...WSU volleyball program has donated more than $12,418 to date for educational programs...to donate online, go to wsucougars.com, click on Cougs Wave Pink rotating banner.
