COUGARS IN THE POSTSEASON
The Washington State University baseball team received an at-large bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship...Cougars are 31-23 overall and finished second in the Pacific-10 Conference with a 19-8 mark...the 19 Pac-10 wins tied a school record for conference victories set in 1990 (Pac-10 North Division)...Cougars are the fifth Pac-10 team in history to lose their first three games and advance to the NCAA postseason...Washington State is the No. 3 seed in the Norman, Okla., Regional and will play No. 2 seed Arkansas (34-22) in their first game, Friday, May 29 at 1 p.m. Central/11 a.m. Pacific...left-hander Matt Way (8-4, 2.49 ERA) will start for the Cougars against Arkansas left-hander Dallas Keuchel (7-3, 4.14 ERA)...WSU-Arkansas is rematch of the season-opening three-game series for both schools in Fayetteville, Ark.
