Women's Golf Sit in Ninth After First Round of Peg Barnard Invitational

STANFORD, Calif. - The Washington State University women's golf team sits in ninth place after the first of two rounds at the Peg Barnard Invitational hosted by Stanford, Friday.

The Cougar women combined for an opening-round total of 316 at the par-71, 6,117-yard Stanford Golf Course, and are only nine strokes out of the top five.

WSU was led by junior Amy Eneroth, who fired a 3-over par 74 and sits in a tie for 10th. Eneroth is only three strokes out of the lead and is looking for her third-consecutive tournament victory.

Junior Jessica Black also fared well in the first day of play and sits in a tie for 20th after carding a 6-over 77.

Seniors Tracy Broders and Brooke Henderson shot an 81 and 84 respectively, and sophomore Diana Hong ended with 86 to round out the Cougar contingent.

The women are back for final round action with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., Saturday.
