PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State's (10-11 overall, 2-1 Pac-10 North) last game of a four-game series against Pac-10 North rival Oregon State (12-7-1, 1-2) fell in the hands of mother nature as the 1 p.m. contest was rained out.

The last game of the series will be re-scheduled as the fifth game when the two teams meet in Corvallis April 24-26. The Cougars won the shortened series 2-1 after splitting a doubleheader Sunday. The Cougs opened conference play Saturday with a convincing 13-3 pounding of the Beavers.

Washington State will return to action Wednesday against Gonzaga (2-19) with a 2 p.m. game in Spokane at August/A.R.T Stadium. Jason Grove (0-0), the expected starter from Monday, will most likely take the mound against the Bulldogs. The Cougars will host a squad of former players in the annual alumni game Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bailey Field.
