PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State men's golf coach Walt Williams announced the addition of three players - Benjamin Bryson, Adam Hober and Ryan Ressa - to the program, Monday.

"All three are excellent players and students," Williams said of the group. "Ryan and Ben will make an immediate impact on the team with the collegiate experience they possess. Adam is a quality player who, once he adjusts to the collegiate level of play, is going to help us down the road."

Bryson transfers to WSU after spending a season at Lewis-Clark State. Playing for a Warrior team that ended the 2001-02 season ranked sixth in the NAIA by Golfstat, Bryson earned a 2002 All-Frontier Conference second team honor. A four-year golf letterwinner at Lowry High School in Winnemucca, Nev., Bryson captured Nevada 3A State Golf Player of the Year honors and was a first team All-State selection his senior year. Additionally, Bryson could put the ball in the hoop as he was a first team All-State selection in basketball.

Ressa, who is a native of Pullman, returns to his hometown after spending the past two seasons at the College of the Desert in Palm Desert, Calif. Ressa, who was named the 2002 Foothill Conference MVP, earned All-State accolades as he captured individual medalist honors at the 2002 California Community College Men's Golf State Championship. A four-year letterwinner at Pullman High School, Ressa finished fifth at State in his senior season as a Greyhound.

Hober comes to Pullman after lettering four years at Sentinel High School in Missoula, Mont. An All-State honoree at Sentinel, Hober captured first place at a 2001 USGA Junior Amateur Qualifier as well as individual medalist honors at the 2001 Montana Junior Amateur, the Montana State Golf Association Junior tournament and the Independent Insurance Agents tournament. As a freshman, Hober helped lead Sentinel to the State championship.

The Cougar men's golf team opens the 2002-03 season at the Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, Sept. 6-8.
