PASCO, Wash. -- - Washington State University's three-game baseball series beginning today in Pasco against the Gonzaga Bulldogs has been cancelled by the cold, snowy conditions projected through the weekend.
WSU coach Tim Mooney indicated the two teams would try to make up the three games as mid-week contests later in the season.
The Cougars are 2-5 after a four-game series at Cal State-Northridge to open the season and then three games last weekend at UNLV. Gonzaga has yet to play its first game.
The next action for WSU will be at Oklahoma State in a three-game series Feb. 16-17-18.
WSU is scheduled for one home appearance between now and the end of March when UCLA visits the Cougars for three games. WSU and Gonzaga are slated to play three games early next month, including a March 3 home opener in Pullman and games in Spokane the day before and the day after the Pullman contest.
The teams will make up the three games as follows:
Feb. 27 - 1:00 p.m. single game at Pasco
March 3 - Noon doubleheader at Pullman (teams already slated for one game in Pullman that day)
April 10 - 2:00 p.m. single game in Pullman
