PULLMAN, Wash. - For the second year in a row, Washington State Women's Basketball Head Coach Sherri Murrell will journey across the Cascades to conduct a coaching clinic in western Washington.
The difference this year is that Murrell will bring the entire coaching staff and team with her.
Murrell will conduct a fall coaching clinic, Saturday, Nov. 1 from 1-4 p.m. at the Redmond High School Gymnasium (17272 NE 104th St.) in Redmond, Wash. High school, youth, AAU coaches and students are welcome to attend.
The clinic will feature on court demonstrations in a live practice setting with the Cougar basketball team from 1-3 p.m. During this time, coaches will be able to ask questions as the drills are being conducted. Among the topics that will be covered are guard/post position work, transition offense, and half-court defensive breakdown. After practice, there will be a question and answer session.
Cost for coaches to attend is $5 while admission is free for students. Clock hours will be offered for coaches. Those interested in attending may contact assistant coach Lisa Fisher at 1-800-393-8417 (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Oct. 27.
Last year, Murrell conducted a clinic in downtown Seattle with special guest speaker Lin Dunn, the former head coach and general manager of the WNBA's Seattle Storm.
