Volleyball Signee Marcelina Glab Garners State & National Honors

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Cougar volleyball signee Marcelina Glab, a 6-2 middle hitter from Watertown, South Dakota, was named the Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year for the state of South Dakota, and was selected to the 2009 AVCA Under Armour honor mention All-America team.

Glab is a highly-honored three-year, three-sport letterwinner at Watertown High. She is an all-conference and all-state player in volleyball, a starter on the two-time state champion basketball team, and has been a state-qualifier as a long, triple and high jumper on the track team. The Arrows' volleyball team finished fifth in the 2009 state AA championships with an 18-7 overall record and Glab led the state tournament in kills (61, 5.08 kills per set), blocks (18, 1.50 blocks per set) and points (82 in 121 sets, 6.83 pps).

She was named the AVCA/Max Preps Player of the Week after landing 38 kills against the No. 2-ranked team in the state, Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Glab played for Washington State Head Coach Andrew Palileo's SoDa Volleyball Club team in South Dakota.

Glab will attend Washington State beginning in Fall semester 2010.
