SEATTLE - Stanford's Joel Kribel carded a tournament-best 7-under-par 63 in the third round of the Pac-10 Championships Tuesday at Broadmoor Golf Club. He stands atop the leader board with a total of 197 over 54 holes of the 72-hole event. Arizona State finished the day with a 356 for a total of 1053 and extended its lead in the team standings to 14 strokes over second-place Oregon.

Washington posted 363 in the third round to drop into fourth place as UCLA carded 356 to give it a five-stroke lead on the Huskies. UW's Troy Kelly, who entered the day in third place, took an eagle 3 on the par-5 18th hole to finish with 72 on the day and 209 for the tournament, good for fifth place. Gordy Scutt fired the Huskies' low-ball, coming in with a 1-under 69 to finish the day with 212 and grab a share of seventh place. Scott Kral grinded out a 76 to finish tied for 14 with a 215. Senior Rob Rashell registered a 74 to finish with 219 with a round to play. Washington's final tallies came from freshman Brett Bockmann's 79 and Robb Bergeson's 73.

Kribel bettered that mark with a bogey-less round Tuesday, finishing with a 63, just two strokes from the Broadmoor course record of 61. With a round left, Kribel leads the tournament with a 356, four strokes ahead of defending conference champion Paul Casey and Oregon's Andrew Tredway, who grabbed a share of second with a 66 giving him a 54-hole score of 205.

The Kribel-led Cardinal came in at fifth place with a 1088, 13 strokes behind the Huskies. California moved into sixth with 1092 after carding the day's best team-score of 354. Southern California was just one stroke back of Cal with 1093. Arizona improved its second-round total by 20 strokes to finish with 1097 for the tournament. Oregon State rests in ninth with 1103 and Washington State is 10th with 1133.
