(On the preseason overall)

"We're into our third week of practice and our team is progressing very well. We still have a lot of enthusiasm, hard work and competition. I know I have said this before, but what makes your team better is competition."

"We have a great attitude and we are very excited to play our first exhibition game in a couple of weeks. Nick Graham and Marcus Moore have really played well the last couple days."

(On upcoming scrimmages)

"Saturday (Nov. 2) morning, we will have an open scrimmage. Dick Cartmell, a Pac-10 official who has worked the Final Four, will be here. We invited all of our fans to come out and watch. We also plan to have a scrimmage the following Saturday (Nov. 9) in Beasley Coliseum."

NOTE: The Nov. 2 scrimmage will begin at 9 a.m. in Physical Education Building, Room 146.
