PULLMAN, Wash. -- Ellannee Richardson, five-time Washington State University All-American and current assistant coach for the Cougar track and field teams, ran the fastest time in the women's 400m dash prelims Saturday at the 2004 USA Indoor Track & Field Championships at Boston.
Richardson raced to a PR of 52.93 seconds, well ahead of the second-best prelim time of 53.56 run by Julian Clay, a former Georgetown racer from Jamaica.
The women's 400m final is set for Sunday, Feb. 29, at 5:03 ET, at Boston's Reggie Lewis Center.
The final stop on USA Track & Field's 2004 Golden Spike Tour, the USA Indoor Championships serve as the selection process for the 2004 IAAF Indoor Track & Field Championships, to be held March 5-7, at Budapest, Hungary. The top two finishers in each event at the USA meet will be selected for Team USA and will compete at the World Indoors.
