THIS WEEK: Washington State University men's and women's cross country teams will be competing at the Pac-10 Championships, Saturday, at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena California...women's 6,000 meter race begins at 9:30 a.m....men's 8,000 meter race at10:30...men's race will feature national leader Stanford as well as No. 5 Oregon and No. 25 Arizona State...women's race features No. 2 Stanford, No. 17 Arizona State, No. 19 UCLA, and No. 25 Washington.

Cougar Head Coach Jason Drake says: "We have everyone healthy and we had a really good hard week of training. Right now we're working on some speed work but mainly we'll use this week to get rested. My main concerns are to keep the kids focused on running their style of race and not get too excited before they even get to the course. The nice thing about this kind of race is that you're able to see other teams and individual runners as opposed to a huge group of 300 runners."

Coach Drake about the Cougar Women: "Anna Blue should have a really good race this week. She seems to run well in November plus she has been making steady improvements all season long. The rest of the women have been getting better and better this season and should also run a really good race."

Coach Drake about the Cougar Men: "Danny Wolf needs to run smarter then he did at the last meet (Pre-NCAA, Oct.19) and if he does he can finish real strong. Ian Johnson just keeps getting better with each race along with Mark Wicklander, who always runs a smart race. Mike Heidt and Kyle Barker will hopefully step up. If Mike can stay well-rested and Kyle makes some good improvement then we can have a strong group of five in the race."

NEXT WEEK: The Cougars take a week off for training before heading to Stanford, California, for the NCAA West Regional Meet, Sat., Nov. 16...racing begins at 10:00 a.m.
