PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State true freshman Dustin White (Pueblo West, Colo.) shot back-to-back 74s and is ninth on the leader board after the two rounds at the Husky Invitational at Trophy Lake Golf and Casting in Port Orchard, Wash.

White, who has not finished higher than 43rd in his previous two tournaments, is only 4 strokes off the lead heading into the final round. Senior Jeff Gustafson (75-74--149) and sophomore Jon Reehoorn (76-75--151) are the only other Cougars in the top 20, placing in ties for 13th and 19th, respectively. The trio has WSU sitting at sixth in the 10-team tournament.

UCLA (371-373--744), ranked 16th nationally, is the team leader after 36 holes. Stanford (372-373--745), Oregon (372-374--746), and tournament host Washington (372-376--748) are all within four strokes.

Oregon's Ryan Lavoie (74-70--144) and Stanford's Alex Aragon (69-75--144) are tied for the individual lead. Washington's Troy Kelly (73-73--146), ranked 17th nationally, teammate Gordy Scutt (73-73--146),California's Han Lee (73-73--146), and UCLA's Brandon Ditullio (73-73--146) are all part of a four-way tie for third place.
