BURSEY'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

Prior to senior season, transferred to Long Beach Poly, where he was coached by Raul Lara...as a as a SOPHOMORE at Beverly Hills, rushed for over 1,110 yards and had over 250 receiving yards...accounted for 12 touchdowns...co-offensive most valuable player in the Ocean League...JUNIOR at Beverly Hills, rushed for a school record 1,591 yards and 24 touchdowns, earning league co-most valuable player honors...served as the Normans' team captain and led them to a 7-3 record and a trip to the playoffs...SENIOR (2003-04) season at Long Beach Poly ran for 880 yards and 17 touchdowns...also had 300 receiving yards...racked up 20 all-purpose touchdowns and was named first team All-Moore League and All-CIF...helped Jackrabbits to an 11-2 record and a trip to the CIF Southern Section Division I semifinals...team also featured UCLA defensive tackle Kevin Brown...traveled to Hawaii and defeated powerhouse Kahuku 42-16...reached the end zone three times in that game, twice on the ground and on a 22-yard touchdown reception...Long Beach Poly program has churned out more NFL players than any other high school in America, as well as baseball legend Tony Gwynn, tennis great Billy Jean King, and actor Cameron Diaz...finished with 61 rushing touchdowns in his high school career.

FRESHMAN (2004-05): Coached by Darryl Holmes at West Los Angeles College...was among the top 20 in California junior college football in rushing and all-purpose yards...compiled 1,025 yards and five touchdowns on the ground...averaged 5.9 yards per carry...chipped in 260 receiving yards and 248 return yards for a total of 1,533 all-purpose yards on the season...earned first team All-Western States honors at running back as West Los Angeles finished 6-3...also picked off a pass on defense.
