BOYD'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

Graduated from Ferndale High 2002...excelled in track, football and basketball during prep career...wants to play for the Cougar basketball team...football coach Vic Randall...during JUNIOR season all-league first team pick as a tight end and second team on defense...caught 22 passes for 470 yards and six scores...SENIOR season named to the Associated Press All-State 3-A team as the tight end...the #8 prospect in the Northwest by Super Prep Magazine...team finished 9-1 overall and won the Northwest League with a 7-0 mark...Seattle Times All-State first team pick...one of three players selected by the Seattle Times to their Blue Chip list...Washington Prep Football Report All-State choice...all-league first team tight end and defensive lineman...a Northwest Nugget honorable mention pick by the TNT...named to the Western 100 by the TNT...received 5 of a possible 10 votes in the Best in the West poll by the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

FRESHMAN (2002-03): Redshirt season...earned offensive scout of the week honors leading up to Oregon game.

RS-FRESHMAN (2003-04): V-letter...Games - 12...Starts - 0...named to The Sporting News All-Pac-10 Freshman team...earned honorable mention on Rivals.com freshmen All-America team...blocked two Idaho field goals in his first collegiate game and later blocked a PAT against New Mexico...only touchdown came with a three-yard catch from Matt Kegel late in the Stanford game...against USC had five receptions for 49 yards, both season highs...two receptions in four other games...missed the UCLA game with a hip pointer...had at least one reception in all but the UCLA and ASU games...earned the following weekly team awards: Cougar Claw - Colorado, Special Teams Big Play - New Mexico, Big Hit - OSU. Special Teams: Kick blocks, on-side kickoffs. Following football season, joined the Cougar basketball team and playing in two games before sustaining a shoulder injury lifting weights.

RS-SOPHOMORE (2004-05): V-letter...Games - 7...Starts - 0...Special Teams: KO Returns, FG/PAT kicks...a regular in WSU's two-tight end sets early in the year...caught the longest pass of his career at Arizona, 38 yards...suffered a severe right shoulder sprain at Arizona and missed the next four games before returning to action at UCLA...did not have a catch against UCLA, but recovered a crucial on-side kick in the final minute to help preserve WSU's win.

RS- JUNIOR (2005-06): V-Letter...Games - 9...Starts - 1...Special Teams: Punt Return, KO Return, Onside KO, Hands, PAT/FG...missed the first two games of the season because of badly sprained ankle...started the final game of the season in WSU's win over Washington and contributed a season-best five receptions for 65 yards...five catches also equaled his career-best against USC as a freshman...caught two passes in three other games, Oregon State, Arizona State and Oregon.
