WSU (11-1) vs. No. 6 UW (10-0) in Bohler Thursday

WSU VOLLEYBALL BRINGS 11-1 RECORD HOME TO START PAC-12 PLAY
The Washington State University volleyball team (11-1), coming off three consecutive tournament wins, starts Pac-12 Conference play this week on its home court in Bohler Gym...WSU takes on cross-state rival No. 6 Washington (10-0) Thursday night at 7 p.m. in a match telecast on Pac-12 Washington...Saturday, WSU hosts Utah (6-5* pending 9/23 match vs. Colorado) in a 7 p.m. match that will be live streamed through wsucougars.com.
COUGAR COACHING STAFF
Jen Stinson Greeny is in her fifth season as WSU's head coach (64-77 at WSU, 5 years; 177-101 in career, 9 years) - complete Greeny bio on page 5...assistant coaches Burdette Greeny (fifth year) and Shannon Hunt (third year)...all coaches are former WSU student-athletes...volunteer coach James Dorr (first year)...Katie Hinrichs is coordinator of operations (fifth year).
WOODFORD NAMED PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF WEEK
McKenna Woodford, a 6-4 OH from Chandler, Ariz., was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for Sept. 14-20...she was MVP at Texas Tech Lone Star Showdown, leading WSU to three sweeps over Northwestern St., Texas Tech and Portland St...hit .351 over the weekend, averaging 3.78 kps, 2.00 dps, 0.89 bps and 4.28 pps...17 kills vs. host Texas Tech, hit .538, with five digs, four blocks... had a double-double against PSU (11 kills., 10 digs), and had three blocks...all-time: 5th Freshman of Week and 25th Cougar Player of the Week honor.
