Mariah Cooks Garners Pac-12 All-Academic Accolade

SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State junior forward Mariah Cooks earned Pac-12 Conference All-Academic honorable mention recognition, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced Friday.

Cooks owns a 3.3 cumulative grade-point-average and is majoring in political science. The Santa Maria, Calif. native earned the same accolade last year.

On the court, Cooks started all 32 games for the Cougars and finished fourth on the team in scoring (7.5 ppg) and rebounding (5.3 rpg). Cooks recorded three double-doubles and scored in double figures nine times while helping Washington State earn a trip to the postseason WNIT for the second straight season.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
