T&F Hosts 14th Annual Cougar Invitational April 26

The Washington State track and field teams will be competing on the Palouse for the next four consecutive weekends...WSU hosts the 14th Annual Cougar Invitational, Saturday, April 26, at Mooberry Track in Pullman...collegiate competitors from the area will be joined by several Cougar alumni including WSU steeplechase record-holder Caroline Austin and WSU javelin record-holder Marissa Tschida...meet begins with men’s javelin, men’s hammer and men’s long jump at 11 a.m...racing begins at 1:15 p.m...spectators are admitted without charge...results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com, when available after the meet...for a list of WSU competitors for this weekend, see page 2.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 41st season with the Cougar track program; 20th year as a head coach, 19th year as mentor to the combined men’s and women’s program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)…volunteers include Caroline Austin (distance), Veronica Elseroad-Wall (hurdles), Oliver Henry (throws), and Emma Kertesz (distance).
WSU TRACK & FIELD REUNION MAY 16-18
All Washington State University track and field former student-athletes are invited to a commemorative reunion and celebration in honor of Head Coach Rick Sloan’s 40 years with the Cougars program. The Reunion and Celebration will be held in conjunction with WSU hosting the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships at the Mooberry Track Complex May 16-18, 2014.
