Pictured above, Director of Athletics Bill Moos speaks to a capacity audience during Wednesday night's Signing Day Party at Spokane's Northern Quest Resort and Casino.
During his latest podcast conducted Thursday morning, Moos discusses what he told the audience, including parallels of how the Seattle Seahawks built a championship team to how Cougar Football is building a winning program, and the message he delivered to Cougar Athletic Fund members.
In addition, Moos talks about the 2013 fall semester academic success of Cougar student-athletes, which was released earlier this week at WSUCougars.com.
"I think it tells the story of the importance that we put into academics and the great academic support team that we have," Moos said. "I say this several times and I will again, these are not athletes-students, these are student-athletes, and we put a tremendous emphasis on the importance of their education and make sure they get their degree."
Moos also looks ahead to Saturday’s Special Olympics basketball tournament hosted by WSU Athletics, and this weekend’s action at WSU, including women’s basketball hosting No. 4 Stanford and No. 21 Cal.
