COUGARS TRACK & FIELD SQUADS TRAVEL TO BOISE, MOSCOW
After opening the 2014 indoor season at home, the Washington State University’s indoor track and field teams travel to three meets in the state of Idaho this weekend...Jacksons Invite/New Balance Boise Indoor takes place Fri., Jan. 24 and Sat. Jan. 25 in Nampa, Idaho at the Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Center in Nampa...Boise State is the host school and the meet is a combination of high school and collegiate events both days...live results are available at broncosports.com/livestats/c-track/index/index.htm...a limited number of Cougars will be competing at the Vandal Collegiate I Fri., Jan. 24 and/or at the Idaho Open Sat., Jan. 25...both meets are at the Kibbie Activities Center in Moscow...complete results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com when available following the completion of each meet.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 41st season with the Cougar track program; 20th year as a head coach, 19th year as mentor to the combined men’s and women’s program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)…volunteers include Caroline Austin (distance), Veronica Elseroad-Wall (hurdles), Oliver Henry (throws), and Emma Kertesz (distance).
COUGAR MULTIS / COUGAR INDOOR MEET
The Cougar Multis/Cougar Indoor meet will be held Fri., Jan. 31 & Sat., Feb. 1 at the Washington State Indoor Facility...these meets are open and participants can enter through DirectAthletics.com by Noon Wed., Jan. 29...women’s pentathlon (five events) will take place Friday, Jan. 31 and the men’s heptathlon (seven events) will start Jan. 31 and conclude Feb. 1...events begin Friday at 2:30 p.m. and then Saturday at 10 a.m.
