STANFORD, Calif. – Mallory Kent fired a 2-under, 69 in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice, Saturday.
Kent’s performance moved her up 22 spots on the leaderboard in day two and into a tie for 23rd at 1-over with 18 holes to play, Sunday. Kristen Rue carded a 5-over, 76 after a first round 72 and sits in a tie for 49th.
"I am really proud of Mallory's effort today," Washington State Head Coach Kelli Kamimura said. "Kristen missed some puts on the front nine, but did a good job of fighthing back."
The Cougars are in 16th place in a tournament that features nine teams in top 25 nationally and 13 in the ranked 41st or higher. Lindsay Harmon (+11), Cherokee Kim (+21) and Rachel Lewis (+26) are the other student-athletes competing for Washington State.
