STANFORD, Calif. – Washington State women’s golf sits 14th in the competitive field after day one of the Stanford Intercollegiate. WSU scored 301, +17 after the first round of the tournament. USC leads the field (276, -8), followed by Washington in second (282, -2) and Stanford and Oregon tied for third (283, -1).
Junior, Kristen Rue continues to lead the Cougars for the second consecutive tournament sitting tied for 22nd. Rue scored a 72, +1 after round one and carded three birdies.
Senior, Mallory Kent, also stepped up for the Cougars and carded three birdies on the day. Kent is currently tied for 45th with a score of 74, +3.
The tournament continues tomorrow with tee times starting at 8:30 am.
