THIS WEEK

The Washington State soccer team (9-3-3, 2-3-1 Pac-12) travels to Arizona (7-5-3, 2-4-0 Pac-12) and Arizona State (8-6-0, 3-3-0 Pac-12) for a pair of Pac-12 road matches...meeting with the Wildcats, Friday at 2 p.m. will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks…live stats for the battle with the Sun Devils, Sunday at 1 p.m. will have live stats on wsucougars.com and run by Arizona State.

WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH KEIDANE McALPINE

Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is in his second year at Washington State, and his seventh year overall as a head coach...McAlpine is 21-9-5 in Pullman and 61-57-16 overall…led Cougars to NCAA First Round in 2012, Washington State’s fourth postseason appearance in the last-five years.

WASHINGTON STATE RECEIVING VOTES

Cougars have received votes in the NSCAA top 25 poll (eight weeks) and the Soccer Times top 25 rankings (seven weeks) this season.

NATIONAL AND CONFERENCE RANKINGS

Washington State is tied for seventh nationally in shutout percentage (0.67) and 24th in goals against average (0.63)…tied for the lead the Pac-12 with 10 shutouts, one shy of the school record…redshirt junior goalkeeper Gurveen Clair’s nine shutouts are first in the conference…sophomore Kourtney Guetlein’s seven assists and 0.47 assists per game are tied for the lead in the Pac-12…senior Micaela Castain is ranked nationally with 11 goals (T-25th) and leads the Pac-12…conference leader in points (27), points per game (1.80) and goals per game (0.73)…second in Pac-12 with four game-winning goals.

CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOK

Washington State senior forward Micaela Castain is second all-time at Washington State with 14 game-winning goals…third in Cougar history with 33 goals and fourth with 74 points, 1.10 points per game and 0.49 goals per game…redshirt junior goalkeeper Gurveen Clair is the current school record holder in goals against average at 0.78…tied for second in Cougar history with 20 shutouts and 29 wins…both marks are one away from school records…sophomore Kourtney Guetlein is tied for second on the Cougar single-season list with seven assists, one short of the Washington State record…her 0.34 career assists per game is career current-Cougar standard.

SERIES AGAINST ARIZONA

Washington State is 14-3-1 against Arizona, including 6-1-1 in Tucson…Cougars have won eight-consecutive meetings overall and three-straight on the road…Wildcats have not scored against WSU since 2007.

ABOUT THE WILDCATS

Arizona is 7-5-3, 2-4-0 Pac-12…Wildcats are 3-2-0 at home, including a 2-1 loss to then-No. 11 UCLA, Sept. 29 in their only home Pac-12 match this season…Jazmin Ponce leads team with 10 goals and 24 points.
