Devon Carroll

A former Cougar rower, Devon Carroll enters her second season as the rowing graduate assistant at Washington State University. Carroll spent her time away from rowing as a club rowing coach.

After graduating, Carroll coached for the Sammamish Rowing Association, a community rowing club in Seattle. In her seven years with SRA, she worked with male and female adults and high school students. She led the novice girls to over 30 regional championship wins in numerous events. In 2009, Carroll was named the Northwest Rowing Coach of the Year after SRA swept the Regional Championships in all novice events.

While a rower at WSU, Carroll was a member of the 2004 varsity eight crew that placed 14th at the NCAA Championships her senior year and a part of the novice squad that won the 2001 Pac-10 Championships as a freshman.

Carroll graduated from Washington State, receiving a bachelor’s degree in communication in 2004 and a second in fine arts in 2006. She returned to her alma mater as the graduate assistant and is working toward a master’s degree in sport management. She hopes to continue coaching after she earns her degree.
