Washington State legend Bob Robertson threw out the first pitch at Safeco Field on Saturday, Sept. 28, when the Seattle Mariners faced the Oakland Athletics. The Mariners won the game, 7-5.
Robertson, who has also manned the radio booth at Pacific Northwest minor league baseball games for several years, received a warm welcome from the home crowd and fired his first pitch over the plate to Seattle relief pitcher Taijuan Walker.
Robertson said that it was actually his first time in Safeco Field on game day and enjoyed a tour of the press and broadcast areas before stepping into the radio booth and joining in on the game broadcast on ESPN Seattle 710 AM.
