Kyra Holt led the 14 Cougars who saw action on the court in this match. The reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Week, Holt tallied a match-high 17 kills, hit .394 and had three blocks. Ver’Leea Hardaway added nine kills with a .500 hitting percentage and also had three blocks. Freshman Hailey Bethune saw her first action of the season and contributed four kills hitting .667. The Lady Tigers were led by Paige Williams and Tamisha Barry with five kills each. Jenna Siddiqui had on ace and two blocks, and Karmen Jackson added eight digs.

WSU out-hit Jackson State .358 to .012.

“I liked how we came out aggressive, especially in that first set, and we were able to get just about everybody in the match so that’s a reward for the hard work people have been putting in at practice,” Cougar Head Coach Jen Greeny said.

WSU takes on Lamar Saturday at 8 a.m. PT and then plays host Sam Houston State at 5 p.m. PT that night.
