WSU Athletics to Participate in First Down Friday

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University Athletics will be a part of First Day Friday, hosted by the Pullman Chamber of Commerce and held in downtown Pullman, Friday, Sept. 13, to help raise enthusiasm for Cougar football’s home opener the following day.

First Down Friday is a free community pep rally with inflatables for children, live music, food, ice cream and a beer garden and takes place at Olsen Street, between Grand Avenue and Kamiaken Street, Friday, Sept. 13, from 5-8 p.m.

The Cougar Marching Band and spirit squad will perform at 5 p.m., followed by speaker and WSU men’s basketball head coach, Ken Bone at 5:15 p.m. From 5-6 p.m. the Cougar women’s basketball team will be signing autographs, followed by the baseball team from 6-7 p.m. and the men’s basketball team from 7-8 p.m. 

WSU football hosts Southern Utah in its home opener Saturday, Sept. 14 with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
