BOISE, Idaho – Nicole Setterlund’s goal in the seventh minute lifted Washington State to a 1-0 victory over Weber State in nonconference women’s soccer, Sunday.
The goal was the second of the season for Setterlund and came off a corner kick by Micaela Castain. The Cougars (4-0-1) recorded their fourth-straight shutout while handing the Wildcats (2-1-2) their first loss of the season.
“Our intensity and energy was better than out last game (Thursday),” Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine said. The lone disappointment is that we pride ourselves on creating chances and scoring goals. We created chances, but we did not convert enough this weekend.”
Washington State outshot Weber State 15-2, including a 7-0 advantage in the first half. The Cougars earned seven corner kick to the two for the Wildcats.
The Cougars will host UNLV on the Pac-12 Networks, Friday at 2:30 p.m.
