PRAGUE – The Washington State University women’s basketball team continued its 10-day foreign trip through Europe, facing Slavia Praha in Prague.

The team defeated Slavia Praha, 80-68, to finish their European tour 4-0.

The game recap can be found here.

The Cougars will return to Pullman Friday, Aug. 16.

Throughout the Cougars' travels in Europe, seniors Brandi Thomas, Sage Romberg, and Hana Potter have been keeping a players’ blog of their thoughts and activities. Below is an entry from Hana Potter, recapping the day’s events.

“Today has been a great day! Especially for being our last full day here! We started our day with a little boat ride down the river near our hotel. We had a perfect view of the castle that we toured the other day. It was beautiful! We saw swans floating by, which was pretty cool, too! We also went under the Charles Bridge that we walked across after our tour of the castle! Everything in this city has so much history behind it! Our game was at 1:30 p.m. today so we didn't have a lot of time to do much before hand but I actually liked having an earlier game! As everyone knows we won again!!! Great way to finish this incredible trip! 4-0! Woo-hoo! It was an interesting and different experience playing against women a lot older than us! One of the players on the team from today’s game was 42 years old! But its good practice playing against more experienced players! European basketball even has a different style of basketball, and I actually really liked it! After the game, some of the girls and I walked around the town a bit and did some shopping! We stopped to watch this entertainer in the big square where people gather to watch people perform their various talents. This guy started juggling knifes and torches and THEN he asked me to help him with a trick where he laid down on broken glass and asked me to stand on his stomach!!!! I was so nervous I really didn't want to do it because I didn't want to hurt him but he convinced me that he was a professional and knew what he was doing! It was really nerve racking. But overall very entertaining! I can't express how thankful I am to have had this opportunity to travel with an amazing group of people and be able to do so many fun things! I hope I can come back to Europe after I graduate, I love it here!”
