PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State women's tennis team has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its academic achievement during the 2012-2013 season. Additionally, Ksenia GoogeAndjela KankarasCharlotte Koning and Elizaveta Luzina  were also honored by the ITA for their individual academic achievements.

During the 2012-13 season the Cougars earned a 3.33 team grade point average, as the team earned the ITA Academic Award for the seventh consecutive season. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above.

To be recognized as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must be a varsity letter winner, maintain a 3.5 GPA during the current season, and have been enrolled in their school for at least two semesters.

Koning, a rising junior majoring in psychology, posted a 4.00 grade point average during the 2012-13 season. It marked the second consecutive season she has earned the honor. Kankaras, who graduated in May with a degree in hospitality business management, posted a 3.86 GPA last year and received her fourth academic award from the ITA.

Luzina, a rising junior majoring in fine arts, recorded a 3.73 GPA during the 2012-13 academic year as she repeated on the ITA All-Academic team. Googe graduated in May with a degree in hospitality business management after finishing the year with a 3.60 GPA.
