MARIETTA, Ga. – Former Washington State left-hander pitcher Adam Conley was named to the Southern League All-Star game as a member of the South Division squad.

Conley is currently playing for the Jacksonville Suns, the AA affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The southpaw is 7-4 with a 3.96 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 86 1/3 innings. His strikeout total is tied for sixth in the league and his victories are tied for ninth. He is slated to pitch in the July 17 event in front of his home crowd in Jacksonville.

The Marlins selected Conley in the second round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He has been ranked in the top 10 for prospects in the Marlins’ organization each of the last-two seasons.

Conley is the third former Cougar to earn All-Star recognition this season joining outfielder Derek Jones (South Atlantic League) and first baseman Jim Murphy (Eastern League).
