A native of Tukwila, Wash., Kent shot a 224 (73-75-76) to finish 8-over and win the tournament by one stroke. She closed the tournament with a birdie on the par 4, 14th, a hole she bogeyed in each of the first-two rounds, and four pars to secure the victory.

"The front nine really challenged me in each round, but the turnaround came on the ninth hole in the third round," Kent said. "I made an up and down with a tricky putt to save par on nine and that seemed to shift momentum for me. I made a lot of good shots on the back nine, but missed some birdie putts. When I made the birdie on 14, it sparked a fire for the last few holes."

Kent added, "Winning a tournament like this is a confidence booster for me. It proved I can stay steady and not take myself out of it when the early part of a round is tough. It definitely will help me for the future and tournament golf."

Kent finished her junior season at Washington State with three-straight, top 20 finishes, and a school-record tying 66 in the final round of the Pac-12 Championships.

Next up for Kent is a U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier beginning, July 2 at Suncadia Resort in Cle Elum, Wash. She is scheduled to tee off at 9:50 a.m.
