VICTORIA, British Columbia – Former Washington State University rower, Lisa Roman, has been named to the Canadian Senior Team for the Aegon Koninklijke-Holland Beker in Amsterdam, Netherlands, June 29 and 30, and the 2013 Samsung World Rowing Cup in Lucerne, Switzerland, July 12-14, Rowing Canada Aviron announced Thursday.

"It’s exciting as it is the first team event for this quadrennial," said Rowing Canada Aviron High Performance Director, Peter Cookson. "The expectation is this will be a learning experience for the athletes and coaches, as we move forward and develop crews for this year’s World Championships in Korea in late August."

A transfer from University of the Fraser Valley, Roman competed with the Cougar varsity rowing team for three seasons, rowing in the varsity boat all three years (2010-12).
