Improvements continued to the men's and women's basketball practice gym as the floor was redone to reflect the newly implemented branding of WSU Athletics and the move into the Pac-12 Conference. A photo gallery can be found HERE.

Coach June Daugherty recently spoke at the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women Luncheon held in Seattle. Daugherty is a major advocate for healthy heart awareness. As a survivor of sudden cardiac arrest, she has become one of the nation's most visible spokeswomen, filming a nationally-aired commercial, speaking at fund-raisers and helping WSU sponsor the inaugural "Cougs Have Heart" basketball game this past season to raise awareness for heart disease.
The luncheon raised an estimated $240,000 for the American Heart Association to continue educating women on fighting heart disease, and funding women-specific research related to cardiovascular disease.
Seniors Katie Calderwood and Katie Madison signed the Legacy Wall inside the Cougar locker room in front of their families, teammates and the coaching staff.
June Daugherty sat down with me today for a podcast to look back on the 2010-11 season and ahead to the 2011-12 campaign. In addition, with WSU hosting the 2011 NCAA Women's Basketball Spokane Regional this weekend, Coach Daugherty offers her recollections as head coach of the Washington Huskies at the 2001 NCAA West Regional, also hosted by WSU.
