The Cougars are in Australia for a two-week tour which includes four cities and five games. Each day a different Coug will blog about his day. To start us off is redshirt freshman, Dominic Ballard, a 6-4 guard from Seattle.

Today was a long day. It all started Friday afternoon with the travel schedule that had us go from Spokane, to Seattle, to L.A., then finally here to Melbourne for 26 hours of total travel time. Never having been out of the country, the 16-hour flight was difficult for me, but not as bad as I thought it would be. The entertainment that was provided on flight was great, I was able to watch some movies. I'm excited to be in Australia and see a lot of the sites and get to play some games as well. We got a bus tour of the city of Melbourne today right after we landed, where saw a lot of gardens (which we call parks back home) and athletic buildings, to name a couple of things. I got to watch my first Australian Football League (AFL) game today, between Carlton and Sydney. That was's quite a bit different from American football. The city was different too, as far as driving and streets on different sides. Although Australia is an English speaking country, I noticed that the lingo is very different from what we're used to. I've been impressed with how nice everyone here is and especially how clean and safe the city is. The streets are very clean and we were able to walk into the AFL game without even being searched. We're all pretty tired tonight, so most of us are going to bed early as we have another big day ahead of us tomorrow, visiting the Melbourne Gaol (pronounced jail), which we drove by today, as well as a team practice.

Go Cougs!
