For Student-Athletes

The Athletic Training staff would like to welcome all student-athletes to Washington State University! We are here to provide service and support to the incoming and current student-athletes who participate in varsity athletics, which includes cheerleading, Crimson Girls and spirit squad. Those students who are participating in club or intramural sports please see URec.

Every student-athlete must be cleared by the Athletic Training Staff and Team Physicians before participating in varsity sports, including WSU Spirit Squad, at Washington State. This page outlines all the paperwork that must be completed before going to Pre-Participation Physicals. Your sport coach will inform you about dates and times for your Pre-Participation Physical. Leaving WSU - Graduating/Transferring

When a student-athlete has finished his/her career at WSU he/she must check in with Athletic Training to update his/her address and also to return any equipment he/she may have borrowed.

If you are transferring from WSU to another institution, we still need a new address. If you would like your new institution to have any medical information from our file, we require a signed release form to do so.

WSU Athletic Training will send an exit letter and form to the student-athlete, which needs to be completed, signed, dated and returned for the athlete to be covered for an additional year on any sport-related injuries received while participating in varsity sports at WSU. This form will have the student-athlete's final coverage date on the bottom.
