Attended Claremont High...coached by Mike Collins, earning three varsity letters...as a JUNIOR made 77 tackles with 17 sacks...All-Baseline League first team pick as well as All-Southern Cal...area leader in sacks...SENIOR year named to the Western 100 (number 11 LB) by the Tacoma News Tribune...a prep All-American pick by the National Recruiting Center and named by Super Prep Magazine to their prep All-American team (number 14 LB) and to their All-Far West squad (30)...Student Sports Magazine named him to their All-Southern California team...a Prep Star Magazine West Region Super 30 pick...made 89 tackles, including 16 sacks and 24 tackles for losses...also picked off three passes and forced four fumbles...caught 11 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns...All-CIF and all-valley honoree.

RS-FRESHMAN (2000-01): V-letter… Games - 11…Started - 0…made 26 tackles while playing in all 11 Cougar games…credited with three sacks, one each against Utah, Idaho and Arizona State…best game came against the Sun Devils when he had seven tackles…made four stops against both Idaho and Washington…earned the following two weekly team awards: BSU/Cougar Claw, ASU/Defensive Pursuit Player.

RS-SOPHOMORE (2001-02): V-letter…Games - 12…Starts - 1…All-Pac-10 honorable mention pick…started in WSU’s Sun Bowl win over Purdue…second on the team with 12/-58 TFLs and second in sacks with 9.5/-54…caused fumbles against Arizona and Stanford and recovered a fumble against UCLA…best game four tackles at Washington, including one sack…three tackles against Idaho, Oregon State and in the Sun Bowl against Purdue…earned the following weekly team awards: OSU/Defensive Pursuit.

RS-JUNIOR (2002-03): His 11.5 career sacks rank tied for eighth nationally among active players going into the season.
