PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State men's basketball team will host Australia Institute of Sport, Thursday to tip off the Cougars exhibition season.
The game will be played at Beasley Coliseum. Game time is 7 p.m., and admission is free.
The Cougars are led by junior point guard Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.). An All-America candidate, Moore ranks second on the WSU career list with 4.2 assists per game and is tied for ninth with 95 steals.
Last season, Moore earned All-Pacific-10 Honorable Mention honors after averaging a team-leading 16.6 points, 4.85 assists and 2.04 steals per contest.
Moore's supporting cast includes a quintet of returnees; seniors Milton Riley (Gardena, Calif.) and Justin Lyman (Missouri City, Texas), junior Nick Graham (Stillwater, Okla.) and sophomores Thomas Kelati (Walla Walla) and Shami Gill (Mission, British Columbia).
The Cougars have also added junior college transfers Justin Kordsmeier (Springdale, Ark.), Justin Bellegarde (Ukiah, Calif.) and Ezenwa Ukeagu (Coral Springs, Fla.).
The Australian Institute of Sport is 1-3 during its tour with losses at Oregon (135-86), Portland (88-83) and Concordia University of Portland (86-83). The lone win was 73-63 at Portland State.
